Life is Hard, but Getting Help Shouldn’t Be

Countless concerns come with supporting someone through early childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood—but how do you handle the ones that seem to go beyond what’s considered “typical?”

Maybe your child struggles with transitions or regulating big emotions. Perhaps your teen or young adult seems to be falling behind their peers when it comes to focus, social connection, or emotional well-being.

While big feelings and challenges are a normal part of development, you may still find yourself wondering:

  • Is this just a phase, or is something deeper going on?
  • Why does my child/teen/young adult have such big reactions to small things?
  • How can I support them when they shut down or push me away?
  • Are they struggling with anxiety, ADHD, or something else?
  • Why are friendships and social situations so hard for them?
  • How do I set boundaries while still being supportive?
  • Is therapy the right next step for us?
  • How can I help them build confidence and resilience?
  • Why does everyday life—like routines, school, or work—feel so overwhelming for them?

There is hope, and we’ll find it together

Hello, I’m Kimberly, the founder of Insight Therapy. I’m passionate about helping individuals and families experience improved mental health, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of peace in their lives. I offer both in-person and telehealth therapy for individuals of all ages, and I specialize in supporting young families.

As both a foster parent and mental health professional, I understand the real-life challenges that come with parenting, managing stress, navigating trauma, and building healthy emotional connections. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and practical support—helping clients feel seen, understood, and equipped with tools to thrive.

Whether we’re working on emotional regulation, relationship dynamics, parenting strategies, or personal growth, therapy is a space where real change can happen. I help individuals, parents, and families identify what’s not working, build insight, and develop healthier patterns that support long-term well-being.

My training includes a range of evidence-based approaches such as Parent Child Interation Therapy ( PCIT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) program developed at Yale. I tailor each session to fit your unique needs, goals, and values—whether that means addressing anxiety, behavior challenges, communication issues, or past trauma.

My goal is that you leave each session feeling a little lighter—more connected, more hopeful, and more confident in your path forward. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Insight Therapy is here to help.
